Ohio man sentenced on insurance fraud charges

It came to the attention of the Ohio Department of Insurance that several individuals living in the state were paying premiums for insurance, but had no coverage. The department and the local sheriff’s office conducted an investigation into the allegations. The agent believed to be responsible for these individuals paying for policies but having no actual coverage was ultimately charged with a number of crimes, including insurance fraud.

Ohio man convicted of felony charges related to his wife's death

It was about 1:15 a.m. on November 16, 2012, when a 19-year-old Ohio woman repeatedly stabbed and cut a woman in her bed with a knife from her own kitchen. Police arrived to find the younger woman still in the house, and she never claimed that she did not kill the woman. About nine months after the woman's death, the victim's husband was faced with felony charges in connection with her death.

Drug and money laundering charges filed against Ohio pharmacist

State and federal law enforcement officials in northeastern Ohio conducted an investigation regarding the sale of prescription opiates and opiods in the area. As a result, three individuals -- a pharmacist, his wife and the pharmacist's business partner -- were the subject of a federal grand jury hearing recently. The grand jury voted to indict the trio on drug and money laundering charges, among other things.
