Ohio couple faces felony charges regarding thefts

A couple has been arrested for a string of thefts that stretch from one Ohio town to another. The Scioto County Sheriff's Department says they received information in the form of a tip that led them to the couple. Both the man and the woman are facing separate felony charges in connection with the burglaries.

The man has been charged with four felony counts of burglary and two misdemeanor counts of theft. For some reason, he has been denied the opportunity to post bail. The woman was not charged with burglary, but was instead charged with one felony count of obstruction of justice. Her bail was set at $5,000. No information regarding why the Ohio man was denied bail has been released.

The items that were stolen were mostly wallets, purses, phones, cash, computers and credit and gift cards. When the home the tip led officials to was searched, there were several such items found. Officials have said that some of the items found may be from some thefts that also took place in nearby Kentucky. No information regarding whether the couple owns the home or was just staying in the home is available at this time.

The sheriff's department has said that the investigation is still going on and more people could be arrested in connection with the thefts. When there are multiple defendants involved in the same crimes that are facing felony charges, each person will be focused on themselves. Therefore, it's important for each party to review the evidence independently and have his or her own counsel to make sure that each individual's rights are protected.
