2 men arrested in motel room on drug charges in Ohio

Involvement in the illegal drug trade is a dangerous business, and penalties for being convicted of a drug charge in Ohio are serious. A conviction can result in significant time behind bars as well as fines and difficulty finding future employment. These possible consequences are likely on the minds of two Ohio men who were recently arrested and are now facing drug charges.

The local authorities raided a motel room one night in early October and arrested the two suspects on a variety of drug-related allegations. The police claim to have discovered over 140 pills and a variety of drug paraphernalia. However, authorities have not reported exactly what type of pills or paraphernalia were found. Police also seized $466 in cash.

One suspect, a 23-year-old man, indicated that he had been using the motel as his listed residence. He faces the very serious charge of drug trafficking. The man was reportedly also wanted for a robbery that is unrelated to the current drug charges.

The second suspect is a 45-year-old man who was also accused of drug trafficking. Both men were scheduled to appear in court shortly after their arrest.

Although it would appear that police have significant evidence against the two men, that does not mean a conviction is automatic. Everyone who is accused of a crime is afforded the due process of law and will have a chance to put forth a strong criminal defense.

As with all others accused of crimes in Ohio, each suspect must be presumed innocent unless proven otherwise in a court of law. Police officers do make mistakes, and a criminal defense attorney will analyze the arrest and determine whether police committed any improprieties when gathering evidence.
