Ohio teacher charged for alleged sex crimes against minors

Authorities recently reported that law enforcement officials detained a Switzerland of Ohio School District teacher on multiple charges in connection with sex-related crimes involving minors. According to Monroe County officials, the alleged offenses occurred between Nov. 1, 2013 and Feb. 1, 2014. In early March, law enforcement officials commenced a lengthy investigation into the teacher, ultimately resulting in her recent indictment.

Man faces 20-year sentence for drug charges

A man in Ohio may be sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to various drug charges. The 29-year-old reportedly entered a no-contest plea to two counts of heroin distribution and four counts of fentanyl distribution as part of a deal he reached with the prosecution. A judge will choose whether or not to approve the plea deal at the man's sentencing hearing on Dec. 17.

Search of residence leads to drug charges

A woman in Ohio was taken into custody on Sept. 5 after police raided her home in Huntington. A drug task force and the Huntington Police Department's Special Emphasis Unit reportedly obtained a search warrant before they detained the woman at her residence that afternoon. She faces a charge for possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, and she was held at Western Regional Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Ohio doctor accused of drug distribution may be in Pakistan

Authorities believe that a physician who reportedly distributed large quantities of prescription painkillers to individuals who had no legitimate need for the medications is now in Pakistan. A warrant was issued for the doctor, who did not appear at his arraignment on Sept. 4. The physician was charged in August with distributing doses of prescription painkillers to people with no medical need for them, say authorities.

Ohio man faces drug charges after 2-vehicle collision

A 32-year-old Ohio man who was accused of being involved in a collision at a Dayton intersection was taken into custody and charged with drug-related offenses on Aug. 30. According to the report, the collision took place at the Hoover Avenue and North Gettysburg Avenue intersection at approximately 10 a.m.
