Chinese fentanyl trade blamed for Ohio overdoses

The slew of individuals caught with fentanyl in Ohio has been a major concern with the growing opioid epidemic, but a news release from July 24 may pinpoint where the influx of the dangerous drug came from. According to the report, it was a Chinese wholesale supplier that shipped the fentanyl to Northeast Ohio.

The Chinese national accused of bringing fentanyl and other drugs into the United States was arrested in Massachusetts and now faces drug charges. The opioids he allegedly brought into the country have been linked to a number of overdose deaths that took place in Northeastern Ohio.

The 42-year-old man has been accused of distributing opioids and drugs from Chinese dealers throughout the United States. Agents working on the case stated that they located several websites that were selling pounds of fentanyl and other drugs. All someone needed to do was to place an order through the website.

One of the websites has been linked to two overdose deaths that took place in Summit County. Since he is allegedly related to the website and distribution ring through association, the 42-year-old man is expected to be tried in Cleveland. He will appear in a court in Boston as well.

Ohio has been struggling with fentanyl overdoses along with an increase in opiate drug trafficking. If you're accused of possessing opiates, you could face serious penalties. A strong defense can help you be positive that you're not facing extreme charges as a way for the prosecution to make an example of you. Every person deserves a fair and equal trial.
