36 arrested in Ohio after major drug bust

On Behalf of | May 26, 2017 | Drug Charges, Other Crimes

Drug crimes can quickly result in arrests when the police get involved. Many times, the authorities spend months or years planning for a drug bust. During that time, they collect information on the people involved.

It’s possible to get caught up in a drug bust and accused of buying or selling drugs even if you weren’t. This is especially true when many people are busted in an open area or in a home where some may be unaware of the drug abuse or sales taking place.

A major drug bust took place in Ohio and resulted in the arrests of 36 people. In total, there were 16 women and 20 men arrested, and most now face felony drug charges. The authorities reported that the majority of the arrests took place prior to 8:00 a.m. on May 19.

In this case, the police wanted to target drug traffickers in the area. Some of the people who were arrested now face charges for selling to juveniles and trafficking meth and heroin. Others face charges like tampering with evidence, possessing drugs and permitting drug abuse. One woman was simply arrested for failing to appear in court, while another individual was arrested for burglary during the drug bust.

Some of the individuals the police are searching for are still at large following the bust. Warrants have been issued for those they did not locate, with some facing charges for not appearing in court when requested.

In situations like this, it’s normal to see a variance in the types of charges filed. If you’re accused of being part of a drug ring, it’s important to defend yourself immediately. Your attorney can help.
