Man charged for felony after leaving note on car

On Dec. 29, a 43-year-old Ohio man was accused of leaving a sexually explicit note on a woman's vehicle in Green. When the woman alerted Summit County Sheriff's deputies about the note, investigators eventually tracked down the accused man, and he admitted to writing it. He was handed misdemeanor and felony charges as a result of the incident.

The incident took place while the alleged victim's vehicle was parked outside of Handel Vision Clinic on East Turkeyfoot Lake Road. The 20-year-old woman found a note on her car that had been written on a portion of a ripped Cuyaga Falls Dodge receipt. When investigators communicated with the business that issued the receipt, they were led to the accused man's father. The father then explained to deputies that his son had been borrowing his car.

Deputies located the accused man and found the rest of the ripped receipt in his father's car. He was charged for fifth-degree felony pandering obscenity and misdemeanor aggravated menacing. During a court appearance at Barberton Municipal Court on Jan. 12, the man entered no plea to the felony charge and a plea of not guilty to the misdemeanor charge. A judge also granted an order of protection to the alleged victim.

A person who has received charges after a similar incident might want to seek the aid of a legal professional to fight the allegations. Depending on the evidence, a criminal defense lawyer could advise a defendant to accept a plea deal instead of going to trial where a conviction might be more likely and could lead to several years behind bars.
