Ohio man faces drug charges after a raid on his home

Four law enforcement agencies were involved in a joint three-month investigation regarding suspected drug sales being conducted out of an Ohio home. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the home and executed on Aug. 27. The man authorities believe owns the home is now facing drug charges stemming from the results of that search.

During the execution of the search warrant, authorities claim to have seized a number of oxycodone and xanax pills along with some cash. A gun was also found in the home. The 31-year-old, Ohio man was arrested and taken to the Lawrence County Jail. How authorities know that the man they arrested knew the drugs were in his home was not revealed.

There has been no indication whether the man that was arrested was the only person living in the home. It will be up to authorities to prove that the drugs, cash and firearm found in the home belonged to the accused man. Police and prosecutors will also have to provide the man with whatever evidence led them to this man's home and led them to believe he was selling drugs from his residence.

The third-degree drug charges the man is facing are for felony drug trafficking. Due to the seriousness of the offenses and the amount of prison time and fines the man could be facing, it may be beneficial for the man to review all of the evidence against him and prepare a defense to the charges. Everyone is innocent until proved guilty in our system of justice until and unless proven guilty, and this man has the right to defend himself in a court of law.
