Ohio man may face felony charges in connection with shooting

Police began a search for the Ohio man that was also listed as living at the same address as a woman that had been shot. Reports indicated that he had fled the house before police arrived. Through the use of numerous tips and multiple law enforcement agencies, the man was eventually located. He was found in a parking lot not far from where he allegedly abandoned his vehicle. It is possible that felony charges could be filed against the man.

The Galion Police Department was looking for the man in connection with a 911 call to the home of a woman that had been shot multiple times. The Ohio woman was taken by emergency medical personnel to a local hospital. Soon thereafter, she was taken by helicopter to another hospital where she remains in the intensive care unit.

A handgun was found close to the suspect, but not on his person. Police felt it necessary to use a Taser as they took the man into custody. The man suffered injuries during his apprehension and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. It is presumed that the man and woman had some sort of altercation prior to the shooting.

Once the Galion Police Department has concluded its investigation, it will send its evidence to prosecutors who will then decide what felony charges, if any, will be filed in connection with the incident. It would be beneficial for the man that was taken into custody to request to see all of the evidence and witness statements gathered by police as soon as they are given to prosecutors. If he is able to review everything prior to his initial hearing, it may help with determining what course of action to take from the start.
