Man faces drug charges after a surprise drug bust

An Ohio man from Westerville was arrested and now faces drug charges after a police found a large amount of drugs in his residence. He had been tracked by the police after not showing up for a court date, leading to a search of his home. The police say they found an unusually large amount of drugs in the home, and he has been indicted on drug charges.

Adding to the man's trouble is the fact that his residence is located with 1000 feet of two schools. When he answered the door at the time of the raid, the police found a loaded gun as well as narcotics on his person. He will now face gun charges, in addition to an array of drug charges.

The police say the man is under suspicion of a marijuana growth operation as well as a methamphetamine trafficking operation. His drug charges also include felony trafficking of meth within 1000 yards of a school. The police say that the amount of meth that was found on the premise was startling, the street value amounting to around $10,000.

The suspect has been charged by Ohio law enforcement with growing marijuana near a school, possession of LSD, as well as possession of prescription painkillers. In addition to the drug charges, he may face charges for gun possession. Adding to the man's misfortune is the already pending charge of failing to appear in court for previous legal troubles.

Drug charges often involve varying levels and types of charges involving a variety of potential penalties, fines, and sentences. Sorting through this type of situation can be complicated and difficult, especially when the charges could carry such grave consequences. Despite what seems to be strong evidence, this individual remains innocent in the eyes of the law unless and until he is proven guilty. He also has to the right to a fair trial, where he can call into question any evidence that is presented against him. In the end, the burden of proof is squarely on the prosecution, and no conviction can be obtained unless the government proves its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
