All drug crime cases are unique

On Behalf of | Apr 27, 2016 | Drug Charges, Other Crimes

If you are arrested and charged with a drug crime, there is a lot that you need to know. Here is a good place to start: Every drug crime case is unique.

From the circumstances of your arrest to the potential consequences, every detail needs to be taken into consideration as you review your case and determine which steps to take. Unfortunately, it only takes one mistake on your part to make things worse, which could lead to the most serious of punishment, such as time in prison.

There are many types of drug charges, including but not limited to:

— Possession of prescription narcotics

— Possession of marijuana

— Possession of heroin

— Money laundering in relation to drug distribution

— Drug trafficking, such as conspiracy, dealing, and transportation

— Possession of drugs with the intent to sell

As you can imagine, each of these drug crimes is treated differently by the criminal justice system. For instance, possession of a small amount of marijuana is not nearly as serious as transporting drugs across the border.

Even though the seriousness of drug crimes will differ, nothing changes the fact that you want to do what is best for your particular situation.

At our law firm, we have been defending the accused for more than 20 years.
