Ohio man pleads guilty to felony charges of manslaughter

In 2008, three men were shot and killed over the course of three months. An Ohio man was arrested and charged with their deaths. Recently, he pleaded guilty to three felony charges of manslaughter. It is presumed that when he is sentenced on June 24, he will receive a prison term of 14 years for all three counts.

Drug charges result in sentencing of Ohio inmate's mother

The fact is that most mothers would do just about anything for their children. For one mother, this meant ending up facing drug charges. Authorities say the woman attempted to deliver drugs to her son who was incarcerated in a federal prison here in Ohio.

Ohio man faces felony charges in an alleged rape

On April 6, police received information regarding the alleged rape of a woman. According to reports, a man allegedly forced himself on her at a residence whose location is being kept confidential for the time being. At some point, the victim claims the man became violent and used unidentified weapons to threaten her into submission. Authorities eventually took an Ohio man into custody on felony charges of rape in connection with the incident.

Conviction for drug dealing could have separate consequences

A bill in the Ohio legislature could up the ante for anyone found guilty of dealing drugs. House Bill 508 proposes that anyone convicted of drug dealing could be subsequently charged with murder if someone who purchased drugs from that individual dies of an overdose. The bill was written in response to the fact that from the year 2000 to 2011, the state has seen a 329 percent increase in the number of overdose deaths. In fact, in 2007, the leading cause of death by injury was from drug poisoning.

Trial begins for Ohio man facing felony charges in wife's murder

Four police officers converged on an Ohio home last year in response to a frantic 911 call. The then 10-year-old girl and her sibling witnessed their father killing their mother. When officers entered the home, they made their way to the master bedroom. What they saw led to numerous felony charges being filed against the distraught children's father.
