Two men may face felony charges in Ohio for unsafe use of guns

Recently, gun safety has become a focal point for many across the nation. Lawmakers are considering legislation to change the current laws on guns. However, despite the potential stricter regulations, there are still many regulations in place now regarding how guns can be used. Unfortunately, two men in Ohio have been accused of not following these regulations. They have been arrested and could face possible felony charges.

The men allegedly shot up several houses in their rural neighborhood when they decided to do target practice with their AK-47 assault rifle while also drinking alcohol. They were in their own backyard when they accidentally shot bullets into several surrounding houses one afternoon in mid-January. This caused some of the neighbors to call 911 to report that their houses were being pelted with bullets.

The authorities investigated the incident and discovered the two men in their backyard. The men allegedly had the assault rifle as well as three other firearms with them. The two men, ages 53 and 45, also had hundreds of rounds of ammunition as well as alcoholic beverages in their possession. The police officers immediately took the men into custody.

The two men in Ohio may find themselves in court soon facing felony charges for neglecting to operate the guns in a safe manner. The houses were hit by the bullets accidentally, because the men supposedly did not utilize a proper backstop for target practice. However, the men are considered innocent until proven guilty. If charged, they will have to rely on their legal team to help with their defense in court.
