Meth has been found to be one of the most dangerous and addictive drugs. For this reason, criminal charges related to the illegal substance can potentially result in serious consequences. A person may end up behind bars for a significant amount of time as a result of a conviction on drug charges. Two people face this possibility after they were both arrested in Ohio on criminal charges related to producing and selling meth.
One of the individuals charged with crimes in mid-December by the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force was a 32-year-old woman. She was hit with charges of illegal manufacture of drugs, assembling or possessing chemicals to be used to manufacture illegal drugs and child endangerment. The other individual that authorities arrested was a 32-year-old man. He was being charged with illegally manufacturing drugs.
Detectives claimed to have uncovered their drug manufacturing operation, which led to the arrest of the two individuals. The authorities allegedly found an active meth cook using a single pot to create the deadly drug. Equipment and chemicals utilized to manufacture meth are also being used as evidence against the defendants. The detectives made the arrest in early November. Both defendants are now being held in the county jail without bond.
The defendants will now be required to answer to the drug charges in a court of law. How they present their legal arguments is of paramount importance since they could end up in prison if convicted of the crimes. However, they are both considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the law in Ohio. With knowledge of the laws applicable to the specific charges as well as careful examination of the evidence, the defendants may be able to prevail in their defense.
